T. Rex - Cosmic Dancer
Off of T. Rex’s sixth studio album Electric Warrior, “Cosmic Dancer” is a surprising song if you only know T. Rex from their 1971 U.S. hit “Bang a Gong (Get It On)”, but it is a wonderful surprise. Written by Marc Bolan, who died in 1977, it is a song you could get lost in and never want to be found. It is a song that recalls forgotten daydreams and half remembered memories. Whimsical. This is why it is a perfect song to open the film Billy Elliot. This is exactly the kind of song to put on when there is no one around and you want to get lost in yourself for a while and perhaps do some dancing while it plays.
